Dr. Christopher Miller was raised in New Haven, Connecticut. An avid athlete his whole life, he attended the University of Pennsylvania for undergraduate education where he was a varsity letterman. He graduated with honors and pursued his medical school education at Yale University School of Medicine where he graduated with his MD and a Masters in Health Science. He was active in research throughout his medical school and published on biomechanics and clinic outcomes of fusion procedures.
After finishing his undergraduate medical education, he continued his Orthopaedic Surgery residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital. During this time he found that his true clinical interest lay in the care of complex foot and ankle conditions. He then worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Harvard Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship. Since finishing, the fellowship has expanded to include surgical training at Beth Israel and he now teaches fellows along side the mentors who taught him.
Following his fellowship training, he moved to Beth Israel and the New England Baptist Hospital where he is currently in practice. He is on the faculty of the Harvard Medical School and is active in clinical care, research and teaching. Dr. Miller has given lectures on advanced surgical techniques and often educates other surgeons to help advance their clinical care as well. He cares for all aspects of the foot and ankle and is actively involved in limb salvage and amputation prevention efforts for this patients.
One of the most exciting parts of Dr. Miller’s practice is bringing new skills to perform complex procedures via minimally invasive techniques. This can improve patient outcomes, and decrease post-operative pain and scarring. The majority of his practice now revolves around minimally invasive surgery and he is a local leader in the field.
